What is the route?
The El Paso Marathon is a multi state route that starts in downtown El Paso, TX, runs by the University of Texas at El Paso, the historic residential district of El Paso, enters into New Mexico, passes by the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino, runs alongside the Rio Grande, other local points of interest and returns to downtown El Paso.
Where is El Paso?
El Paso, Texas is located where Texas, New Mexico and Mexico meet. El Paso elevation is 3,800 feet (1140 m) above sea level with the highest peak being the majestic Franklin Mountains with an elevation of 7,192 feet.
Who is coming to race?
Last year's race included runners from more than 12 states and 4 countries.
Is the course a certified Boston qualifier?
El Paso Marathon is now a Boston qualifier race.
How is the weather?
According to the El Paso Weather Bureau, The sun shines 302 days per year on average in El Paso. We expect (but can’t guarantee) weather to be within 41º for the low and 67º for the high temperature.
Who is behind this?
El Paso Marathon Foundation is a non-profit organization that its purpose is to showcase El Paso, increase overall health awareness in the region and help other non profit organization. This year we are having as special guests Tarahumara Indians. The Tarahumara are a Mexican Indigenous people of northern Mexico, renowned for their long-distance running ability.
